Lovely picture of a male passanger on the pre war Batory … standing in front of a HUGE life ring preserver. I can’t imagine this life ring was a novelty item … it must have been usable .. maybe it could have saved multiple people? Very interesting picture …I challenge you to find another!
Volume One of Kludas’ amazing book series on Passenger Ships. A delightful man, Arnold Kludas is known as Germany’s equivalent to the American pioneer Frank Braynard. The book contains excellent encyclopedia-like info for Ocean Liners from the way ahead of her time Great Eastern through the sinking of the mighty Titanic. A must have for any enthusiast .
Perfect ashtray marked Incres Line “Cruises Beyond Compare” and MS Victoria. The Victoria was such a pioneer cruiser and have a long life for multiple owners.This glass tray is in perfect shape and ready to take a place on your ocean liner shelf!
Outstanding brochure for the amazing Stefan Batory … the last little liner to cross the Atlantic on a regular schedule. This brochure is mostly full of interior pictures and also includes deckplans and schematics. Lots of the pictures show the public rooms, furniture and artwork that were left from her years of service as the Maasdam for Holland America. This brochure is in outstanding condition and is a total winner! Lovely Company stamped seal on the cover too …

Nice little folded sheet of stationery for the little Stefan Batory. She was the last regular transatlantic passenger carrier when she was retired in about 1988. Nice little sheet…write your liner friends!
Nice little envelop and stationery sheet from the Stefan Batory. built for Holland America as the Maasdam, she was sold to become the Stefan Batory in 1969. A nice little single screw ship … she was one on the last ships with regular trans Atlantic ocean service. She was in service until 1990 or so and then sold for scrap.
Perfect post card from the funny little SS SilverStar. She was a little Navy relay ship that was converted for cruise service form various ports off the east coast of the United States. She was a bit of an ugly duckling! These cards are in perfect shape: several available
Excellent set of cards .. unused an still wrapped in plastic. Features the Emerald Seas on the cover with green trim. The Emerald Seas was purchased from Chandris after they had her totally rebuilt (from the APL President Roosevelt). These were probably bought on board and saved as a gift. Excellent condition.
Nice pamphlet that shows crossings, cruises and some air travels for the Feb-October 1957 period. The year 1957 was the last BIG year of ocean travel … it was all down hill and air travel from then forward. Air travel killed the profits of liner crossings in a few short years and cruising became more and more the standard. Excellent brochure for the twilight of an era. Great reference guide!
The Mikhail Lermontov was the last poet ship built for the Baltic Sea Shipping company. She sank on cruise after hitting rocks off the shores of New Zealand in 1986 .. and the wreck site has become a destination for divers. This is a perfect deck plan for this ship and showing interior views… a very rare find and in excellent condition!
Though the Black sea Shipping company she was built for is long long gone , the Alexandr Pushkin still sails today as the ss Marco Polo. She was the flagship for BSC and was the largest of their “poet” class. This is a perfect deckplan for this ship and showing interior views… pretty hard to find and in excellent condition!
The lovely “American” lady that started her life as the Kenya Castle and made most voyages from England to Africa. The Greeks bought her and gave her some updating and successfully put her into the American cruise market. This lovely heavy tissue line deckplan was printed in the USA sometime after 1960. Excellent condition … lovely rendering of the ship on the back cover.
Lovely dainty silver plated knife and fork set from a Chandris ship. The knife has “Chandris Lines” etched on the blade beside the lovely X flag symbol, while the fork has the X flag symbol stamped below the tines. Made by Sheffield of England, these need a good polishing. I have no idea what ship .. but I’m guessing an older vessel like the Britanis, Ellinis or maybe the lovely Australis.
The Ward Line’s Siboney actually served in both world wars … which sandwiched her peacetime service. This is a WW1 portrait of her dazzle painted and laden with lifesaving rafts. The portrait is in good shape for WW1 with a few waves, the black frame has the typical scuffs and scrapes. I may need to quote shipping for this.
Wonderful travel agency advert for the Alcoa Clipper. Alcoa ran ships all over the route to the Caribbean and South America most carrying ore and freight .. but some were also outfitted for limited passengers. This print by Gordon Ellis is really nice .. she is nestled in a safe harbor. This came from the FOB collection (info on back). A few border suffs and some scratches or! ** May require shipping to be quoted due to size**
A nice Moran towing advertisement poster of the QOB being escorted by a powerful Moran tug. This poster came from FOB’s overwhelming collection of memorabilia that touched ever corner of the maritime world … and certainly an Advert he would have commissioned during his tenure at Moran. This will come rolled and shipped in a tube.
Lovely almost pristine pack of Playing cards for the delta line. These ships plied the Caribbean … their major competitor being grace line ships. Loved their “sharp” post-war design.
Nice little invite card for cocktails poolside from Captain Stein of the Monterey. This is pristine … looks like it was just signed by the captain himself yesterday.
This is such a great little trade publication done in the 1930’s for the shipping industry. There is a lovely Empress of Britain night time photo of the ship all lighted up by floodlights, a great Great Eastern article as well as an overview article on French shipping (Normandie is pictured twice… as well as the Chella and Marechal Joffre).
Lovely little room/ deck plan for the last Matson passenger sisters. Love the little “Hawaiian” details in the room pictures …from the Theater tiki Lights to the fresh Amaryllis flowers in the cabin vases. These would have been darling little ships to travel on!

Perfect heavy glass ashtray for the Matson lines … these would not roll around too much during high seas. The BIG Matson white hulled passenger liners were popular in the late 20’s through the 60’s. This is probably early 60’s mentions 4 ships Lurline, Mariposa, Matsonia and Monterey. Today, Matson lines concentrates on just container cargos and has no passenger operations. Mint: no chips or cracks!
