United States Lines: SS Leviathan Builders Book – Brochure

Probably the most detailed and through book on the “refit” of the Leviathan for passenger service. The Americans were certainly proud of this magnificent war prize that gave our nation our first giant flagship. WF Gibbs was on cloud nine as well. Packed with lots of historic info and filled with pictures and period ads etc. The cover has a little wear, a bit of the lower left hand side is detached from the binding.

Incres Line: Victoria Intro Brochure

Victoria: She started life for Union Castle in the 30’s and then became the famed and long loved cruiser (initially) for the Incres line. She survived several owners and scores of cruising routes. Peter Knego salvaged and saved many items from her when she went to Alang. This is the first brochure that was done for her … stiff plastic covers, pristine and full of interior renderings.

NCL: Norway Medallion

Interesting and curious medallion item from the Mighty Norway. I suspect this was a decorative item that would have been used in conjunction with onboard signage. these is glue on the back side where this was once attached to some structure on board. I wonder where this was exactly mounted on the ship!

NCL: Norway Cabin Number Sign and Deckplan

Somebody was onboard and removed this wonderful items …a cabin number plaque from Suite 0 1039. Who ever it was … they really just ripped this right off the bulkhead … there is still some of the wall board and glue attached to the back side. It is made of a Corian like resin …very durable. The suite was located on the International deck pretty far forward … very close to the ice cream parlor and children’s playroom. Very unique item!

NCL: SS Norway Room Folder-Packet May 25th 2003

Room folder-packet that would have been prepared for the Norway’s cruise that was to depart Miami on May 25th 2003… but that didn’t happen. Just after 630 that morning the ship was rocked by a boiler explosion that claimed the lives of 8 crewmen. She would never sail under her own power again. The folder has some scuffs and bumps to the outside and contains typical necessary items like stationery, a postcard, cruise news paper (dated May 25th), deck plans, SS Norway history pamphlet and telephone guide. The folder was probably quickly removed from the ship as a souvenir before she was towed to Bremerhaven. Interesting item for the last day of the ships service!

United States Lines: SS United States Galley Coffee Urn: Repriced and relisted !

OHHH MYYYYY WOW … here is another one of those rare and unique items. I brought this back from a recent trip out West … One of the Coffee Urns from the ships galley. I believe this came from the galley that served First and Cabin class dining rooms… and is pictured in the SS Guernsey’s auction catalogue (Wednesday 10/03/84). This was of course steam driven (manufactured by RUDSCO) and is complete as far as I can tell! It comes with various glass replacement parts as well. I was told this can make 144 cups of coffee at a time … great for your SSUS bashes! Solid construction and expected condition from preparing a lot of coffee … still has a faint and rich percolator smell.
