Delta Line: Del Norte, Sud and Mar Deckplan-rate folder for 1/1/1956.
The bulk of this wonderful little foldout is dedicated for the first 3 American passenger ships to hit the water after WW2. Designed by George Sharp, they had very modern profiles and lovely geometric layouts. The cabins were quite spacious! there is also a little info on the lines other freighter/ passenger services and then rate info for ALL services. Grand little liners indeed! excellent condition.
United States Line: SS Leviathan TC Breakfast and Luncheon Menu card August 11 1929.
The thrifty Chapman interests that owned the USL at this time combined breakfast and lunch menus for these meals in August 1929. These selections sound tastee… but certainly would not rival what was offered to those in First class. Though some warnings were being issued for stock market investors at this time … the great crash was still about 2 months away from the time this menu was printed. Interesting trident and USL houseflag detailing. Good condition with yellowing and some edge bumps.

Great issue of SSB, the journal of the Steamship Historical Society of America. 130 glorious pages of steamship news and articles …. the feature being a 9 page article celebrating the long life of Gibbs’ Malolo, which had been sold for Scrap in May of 1977. Very interesting read, just wonderful!

American Export: NS Savannah Postcards
The one and only commercial Neuclear powere ship .. the NS Savannah. Frank Braynard suggested the name for the ship to honor the first steam powed vessel to cross the ocean the SS Savannah of 1819 .. who was alos American. The “Atoms for Peace” ship was never really profitable… but she did demonstrate a Nuclear ship could be built, clean and functional, She can be toured today in Baltimore harbor when she is maintained. The cards did come from Frank’s VAST collection .. he had stacks! great condition and unused.
American President Line: SS President Roosevelt deckplan
Lovely deckplan for the Roosevelt. Not sure why it is marked preliminary … certain was printed later in her APL career. Lovely picture of the lady passing under the Golden Gate Bridge.
American Export Lines: NEW SS Atlantic Deckplan Restocked
Excellent deck plan for the inaugural year of service for the ss Atlantic .. which joined American Export after her one class services with American Banner Line flopped. She said on for many, many years as the university ship the SS Universe. The plan is in great shape . stock photo
United States Lines: SS Leviathan Lavish Brochure
Probably the best brochure for the great SS Leviathan … this one is chock full of interior photos … all showing the gleaming reconditioned interiors. Gibbs spared no expense in reconditioning the ship to be the best ocean liner in service. The ornate cover is embellished with golden highlights. Lovely profile of the ship … and interesting glowing and descriptive text. Interestingly, Gibbs for sure would have been involved in the brochure’s design … he was watchful over all details.
Grace- Delta Lines: Santa Mercedes Trophy
Excellent Brass and Marble trophy for the Santa Mercedes .. in pristine shape with original box. Built for Grace and sold to Delta when Grace gave up on passenger service. The ships were built without traditional funnels .. and their funnels were added later in life for pretty much aesthetic reasons. The green box has a hole in the top where the funnel has slightly punctured it.
Grace-Delta Lines: Santa Mercedes Trophy #1

American Export Lines: 4 Aces prewar Racy Clipper ship
The great American fleet to the Mediterranean … the 4 prewar aces of American export … for Yankee cruises deluxe to the Mediterranean. Lovely little ships .. these are super enormous fold out deck plans with large Photos of interiors . The isometric deckplans and drawing are just outstanding … and these are some of the largest folding plans ever done! There is some edge ware and separation at the seam folds … but in good condition for the age. A little cello tape repair too … racy Clipper ship on the cover!
American Export Lines: The four Aces deckplans:
These 4 little ladies were the work horses of the AE fleet … and carried passengers and freight. Lovely booklet type deckplan … I love the design! These little ladies went on to have long lives for various owners.
American Export Lines: Indy and Connie Blue Cover deckplans:
The Indy and Connie were our main liners to the Mediterranean. There exterior and Interior design were certainly wonderful. Impeccable little booklet type deckplan with a blue cover .. I really prefer there over the multi fold plans that were done at other times . Both liners had long life’s and finished their careers in the Hawaiian market. Excellent condition! Note this is a later plan … their original rounded superstructure has been remodeled and squared off.
American Export Lines: Indy and Connie deckplans
Touted as :modern American Living at Sea …the Indy and Connie were our main liners to the Mediterranean. There exterior and Interior design were certainly wonderful. Impeccable little booklet type deckplan .. I really prefer there over the multi fold plans that were done at other times . Both liners had long life’s and finished their careers in the Hawaiian market.
United States Lines: SS America Postcard
Outstanding German Photographic postcard of the beloved SS America. She was the main American on the scene until the SSUS made her 1952 debut. She went to the Greeks and spent many years as the Australis and later Italis and other names. Wonderful and sharp BW view to the little gal!
American Export Line: 4 Aces Mega-Deck plan
Outstanding, huge and magnificent deck plan done to cover AE’s popular 4 Aces. I have often wondered why the marketing team created such a huge an lavish deck plan for these little ladies but I think it was because they were so popular and such money earners for the fleet. If you love these little ladies.. this is the best Isometric DP done for them Post WW2. You can’t find one better than this ..excellent condition.
United States Lines: Leviathan at Newport News photo.
Awesome photo of the ship at NN. The year is 1922 and she will shortly be undergoing her enormous conversion to peacetime use directed by the young WFGibbs. The ships ghostly grey silhouette is shown against the shipyard.. the huge crane clearly in the back ground. Though she would never be a major breadwinner, she brought a lot of international prestige to the US Maritime Community. The photos is in great shape .. whiting on the back telling the date and location of the photo.
Chandris Lines: The Ultimate Australis Brochure: restocked
Well … I don’t think I have ever seen another Austrails brochure that even comes close to rivaling this one! There are lush full color images of the public rooms … many of which never changed from her glorious SS America days ( many America lovers will like this brochure too!!!) The brochure also had deckplans that showed how the crafty Greeks reconfigured cabins to hold more passengers and increase their profits. it’s just too bad she ended up being wrecked off the Canary Islands. The brochure is in excellent shape!
United States Lines: SS America Gala Dinner 57.
Wonderful gala menu from a 1957 voyage. The menu has quite a few signatures from people onboard! Always love the celebratory nature of these menus
